Chalkboard effects are great fun to create! Lori shows you step by step how easy this technique is in her tutorial below. Use this technique on your cards, tags and other altered art projects!

Crafter’s Companion Supplies:

Other Supplies: May Arts Ribbon, notebook, white pigment ink, and green card stock.

Directions:

step 1
Step One: Gather your supplies including a basic school notebook

step 2

Step Two:  Attach strong tape along the front and the back of the notebook.

step 3

Step Three: Adhere the ribbon to the front and back of the notebook, wrapping around.

step 4

Step Four: Cover the front of the notebook with a plain piece of green card stock.

step 5

Step Five: Cut out a black sheet of card stock ¼” smaller than the green card stock.

step 6

Step Six: Using a white pigment ink (try the Memento Luxe Wedding Dress, available on our website), randomly stamp the bluebell stamp on the black card stock. Be sure the ink dries before you touch it so it doesn’t smear.

step 7-1

step 7-2

Step Seven: Using a dry sponge , load the sponge with the white ink and lightly drag over the top of your stamped sheet. This is going to give it a chalkboard effect.

step 8

Step Eight: Using the blue bell stamps and die, stamp the various parts of the flower and then cut out with coordinating die. Assemble the flower so it looks like the one in picture.

step 9

Step Nine: Cut out two rectangles, the largest in the green and the smaller in black.

step 10

Step Ten: Layer the rectangles together and then top it with the bluebell flower. Add to the bottom left corner of the notebook to complete.
