Hi everyone – Sara here! There’s nothing I love more than sharing my passion for crafting with you all, as well as umm-ing and ahh-ing over new creative ways to use products. I thought it would be an amazing idea to combine both of these things and share my very first Sara Loves post – a space for me to chat about my favourite crafty collections and show you tons of photos to get your creative cogs whirring.

For this post, I was keen to talk about one of my favourite things… weddings. It’s wedding season here in the UK and as I’m typing this, the sun has most definitely got his hat on, so I’m very excited for all the love-filled festivities to come. Who doesn’t enjoy getting glammed up, sipping on a glass of something fizzy and getting teary-eyed during a beautiful ceremony? But more importantly, who doesn’t enjoy wedding crafting? Whether you’re making bespoke ‘Congratulations’ cards or stationery for your own wedding, there’s something so special about it all.

With all of that in mind, this Sara Loves is all about my Rustic Wedding collection!

I used the Just Married Die and cut the people silhouettes away to frame our photo. Create 3D flowers by quilling the Bridal Bouquet Die!

Here’s a photo of me and Simon on our wedding day – aren’t we cute? We got married in the late summer of 2007, which is a gorgeous time of the year for weddings. The leaves are just about to change colour and the air is starting to cool slightly, but the sun is still shining, and this is something that really inspired the Rustic Wedding collection.

Of course, weddings are all about love, so this collection isn’t short on hearts or romantic imagery, but everything has much more of a vintage, pared-down feel. So if you’re not a fan of bells and whistles romance, over the top designs or crazy colours, this could be the collection for you. It has much more of an earthy, natural feel, so it’s particularly great for outdoor weddings!

Use different patterns and textures for a more interesting look

The great thing about having a collection that is packed full of earthy shades is that it’s so simple to fit into a colour scheme. Choosing colours is always a fun part of the planning process and I absolutely loved thinking about the shades in my bouquet, the bridesmaids’ dresses and the table decor, but creams and browns go with almost anything! From the sunflower yellow that I’ve used in these cards, right through to the most vivid fuchsia pink, the natural shades in Rustic Wedding will complement them all.

Not only is this collection full of neutral colours, but it’s also packed with texture – something that’s absolutely essential for papercrafting. Nobody wants their cards or invitations to look flat and boring, so give your projects a little bit of life by throwing some textures into the mix. You can try adding the lace to make exquisite edging or use the hessian sheets for a bit of countryside chic.

Clash patterns for a funky effect and create gorgeous gift tags with the Mon Amour Die

But what’s the best thing about the Rustic Wedding collection? The fact that it’s perfect for so many occasions, not just weddings! Versatile products are my favourite thing – why have something if you can’t do a million and one things with it? But because this range is so neutral, it can be used for anniversaries, baby showers and even birthdays! It’s all a matter of playing about, trying new techniques and seeing what you can come up with.

If you still need a little more inspiration, take a look at the video below to watch an absolutely amazing tutorial on how to make a keepsake book with the Rustic Wedding range. It’s also full of fab suggestions on how to use the individual products from the collection, so it’s well worth a watch.

I blooming love the idea of using the J’Adore Die to make a stunning spine for the book, but also the suggestion of using it for gatefold cards. See what I mean about versatile products? Now, while this post has been full of helpful hints and suggestions, I want to see what you can come up with, so I’m giving you lovely lot a very nice 50% off the whole range!

Please note: this offer ends midnight 20th May 2019.
